Great Gifts for Mom

It’s Mothers Day Weekend, and when it comes to a great gift for mom, nothing beats a gift from the garden.

Oh sure, some mom’s like chocolates and things like that, but trust me, give mom a gift from the garden and she’ll think about you all year long.  And, there are so many things to choose from!

Mom’s Patio or deck is a perfect spot for tropical plants like Variegated Pandora Vine or passion vine…and you can’t beat the sweet fragrance of flowering Jasmine or the bright colors of Mandevilla vine…between Mandevilla vine, and these tropical Hibiscus, which come in a variety of colors, as well as tree and bush form, they are definitely the best bang for the buck for all summer flowers, perfect for mom’s patio or deck.

And don’t forget tropical foliage plants like sago palms…bird of paradise…alocasia…cordyline…and the easiest foliage plant to grow indoors, the ZZ Plant!

Of course mom’s love hanging baskets, or combination planters…and you can’t beat Knock Out or Drift roses for mom…look, this is Dream Come True…a 2008 award winning Grandiflora rose developed right here in Cincinnati by Dr. John Pottschmidt…you know she’d love that!

And there’s always the flowering azaleas, or Blushing Bride hydrangeas…Japanese maples are nice…I like the looks of the cut leaf green selections.  And of course, there’s garden art, statuary, fountains…and if mom is a gardener, she’d love a pair of Bionic Garden Gloves…the best garden glove in the world.

Every year I get my mom a Dragon Wing Begonia…been doing this for many years and she counts on it.  Then I add a little something extra…and this year, it’s the ZZ Plant…easiest houseplant of all to grow…the only way to kill it is to grow it in the dark or over water it…and that’s perfect for my mom.  So get out and get your mom something from the garden.  Trust me, she’ll love you for it.
