With the gardening
season right around the corner, many gardeners like wearing gloves while
they work in the soil. And with so many types of gloves on the market
today, how do you know which one to choose
In today’s local garden
stores, gardening gloves come in all shapes and sizes, colors and
materials…nylon, plastic, rubber dipped, goat skin, cotton, grip dots, snug
fit…how do you choose?
First thing, try them
all on…see which style fits your hands the best. Look for a good solid snug
fit…and while you have them on, grab something. The wrong sized glove or
too thick or poorly designed glove will actually reduce your griping
strength, making your hands work harder, you’ll get tired quicker, and that
is not a good thing.
Look at the material
they’re made from…and look to see if they can be washed and dried and still
be the same glove as they were before you washed them! Look at the
stitching and the way they’re made. Will they hold up to your level of use?
Now, if you want my
personal recommendation for choosing gardening gloves…and there are several
that I think are great gloves…it’s the Bionic Gardening Gloves that get my
top vote.
Bionic Garden Gloves
were designed by a hand surgeon…they have anatomical relief pads to maximize
your grip and reduce hand fatigue…motion web and expansion zones for
flexibility…they breath and keep your hands drier from sweating…washable and
recover like new after washing…and has a form fitting wrist closure that
helps fitting and keeps dirt and debris out of the glove…definitely a top of
the line glove for gardening.
And for those of you
with arthritis in your hands, the Bionic Garden Glove is also recommended by
the National Arthritis Foundation. |
