Warm-Climate
Ornamental Plants
for Midwestern Gardens

Palms that grow in Cincinnati?  Bananas that are winter-hardy-outdoors in Northern Kentucky?  Crape myrtle varieties for southwestern Indiana?  Maybe you've traveled to Florida or other locales in the Deep South and came back home yearning to grow some of the "warm-climate" ornamental plants that define those landscapes.

However, you probably thought that this was an impossible dream.

Actually, although true tropical or subtropical plants cannot grow in our area, where winter minimum temperatures often drop below 0ºF, MANY palms, broadleaf evergreens and many other so-called "southern" plants can tolerate the colder winters of our area.  Yes, they will grow here!

You can find many warm-climate ornamental plants at either of our two garden stores. Continue on for photos. CLICK on the picture to see it larger.
