In order to have
beautiful cut daffodils, tulips and hyacinths
in your home during the spring,
it is necessary to plant your bulbs during the fall.
Daffodils, Tulips and Hyacinths are the
most popular perennial Spring flowering bulbs. These bulbs are
most dramatic planted in clusters of like colors.
Dry bulbs are available in late summer and throughout autumn.
Bulbs should be planted during the fall or
early winter at a spacing and depth that is three times the height
of the bulb. Tulips are an exception and will perennialize better
from an eight-inch depth. Planting the bulbs in the sun is
preferred and good drainage is necessary as bulbs will rot in
standing water any time of the year.
