Shasta Daisy

Leucanthemum x superbum

Leucanthemum x superbum or Shasta Daisy was formerly known as Chrysanthemum maximum or Chrysanthemum x superbum. The Shasta Daisy is a profuse flowering, clump-forming 1 to 4 foot tall perennial plant that spreads to about 2 feet with deep green scalloped or lobed foliage. The daisy flowers, white ray florets or 'petals' surrounding yellow centers consisting of densely packed disk florets, bloom on stiff stems from early summer to early fall. Plant in sun or partial sun and well-drained soil. Shasta Daisies are ideal for a garden's edge or are attractive in butterfly gardens or combined with other perennials or annuals. Remove faded flowers for continued bloom and best appearance.
