Perovskia, commonly known as 'Russian Sage', is a
lovely shrubbery perennial. It is equally valuable for its
handsome silvery foliage and for the fragrant, small, tubular pale
lavender-blue flowers that bloom mid to late summer. Russian Sage
is excellent toward the back of a border or planted singly as an
accent. Its long lasting flowers are great for cutting.
Russian Sage prefers well drained, average soil. However, it is
drought tolerant. It grows 3-5' tall, but will lose its upright
form when grown in shade. The shrublike stems may die back to the
ground, but will come back from the roots.
