Ornamental Grasses are so versatile. They can
be used as bold specimen plants or large massed plantings waving
in the breeze, as a low groundcover or edging, in a border or
growing in containers. Some grasses are grown for their green,
gold, red, cream or white foliage that is sometimes banded or
striped. Others are grown for their showy plumes, spikes or seed
heads. Several varieties provide lasting interest throughout
winter. Ornamental Grasses combine well with almost any kind of
plant. Upright, tall grasses create linear interest, especially
when used towards the back of a border. Medium-sized grasses may
be massed together or integrated into a perennial or mixed border
design. Grasses that are low-growing are ideal for edging around
shrubs or combining with spreading evergreens. Ornamental Grasses
grow in height from 2-3' for dwarf grasses to 5-7' for tall
grasses and grow in width from 1-2' to 4-5'.
