Azalea 'Karens' is a very hardy, dwarf, compact
spreading evergreen shrub. The foliage is a shiny dark green. The
beautiful, bright lavender pink flowers arrive late April to early May
and are about 2 inches across. 'Karens' will grow to a height of 2 to 4 feet with
a 2 to 4 foot spread. It has a rounded shape and a medium growth rate.
The Azalea 'Karens' prefers a protected site in sun or partial shade. It
is considered among the hardiest evergreen azaleas.
Azaleas are evergreen or deciduous members of the genus Rhododendron
'Gable Hybrids'.
Azaleas are not just smaller Rhododendrons, they are botanically
different.
