As we get closer to our one hundredth year, I can't help
but think of all the exciting projects Natorp's have been
involved with and how we have grown as a family and a
company. I think about how my great grandfather
started out with a dream and a desire to help beautify the
area through landscaping and how he came to realize that
in order to give his clients the best possible chance at
succeeding he needed to start with quality plant material.
This became the reason he started to grow his own plants
in the native soil to assure that he had hardy, quality
plants. As Natorp's has grown, we've learned that
not only do you need to use the best possible plants and
materials but you need to have knowledgeable people with a
desire to help others succeed. We still grow our own
plants today only now we have over 500 acres.
Growing up working in the fields and on the landscape
crews has taught me that our business is one that is ever
changing not only in the varieties of plants but in the
technology of growing and installing them. Natorp's
has always been on the cutting edge of the industry
trying new equipment and techniques for growing,
harvesting, designing and installing landscapes. We
continue to be active in state and national organizations
to stay informed and exchange ideas. At this time we
employ eight design consultants who have a passion for
landscape as well as two additional designers who all work
together to assure that your project will not only meet
your expectations but exceed them! Another exciting
thing about the landscape business is that it is growing;
literally. It is not like buying a new car where it
loses value as soon as you drive it home. A well
designed and maintained landscape will actually increase
the value of a home or business. To help our
customers enjoy their landscapes for years to come we
decided to start maintaining them about ten years ago.
Now you can have a beautiful yard and still have time to
do the things you enjoy. With our professional crews
visiting your landscape on a regular basis we can catch
problems early and come up with a plan to fix them.
The other very important thing that I have learned from my
grandfather and father is that if you are going to devote
time to do something that you should do it right and then
stand behind it. My brother, Kyle, and I both feel
that Natorp's will be here for a long time to come and we
will stand behind the Natorp name.
